Five Little Things That Make Me Happy (Every Single Day)

What are 5 everyday things that bring you happiness?

Travel might be the big headline in my life, but it’s the small, everyday moments that really make it special. The tiny things. The ones you don’t plan, don’t post about (well… not always), but feel all the same.

Here are five that never fail to make me smile:

1. That first coffee of the day ☕
It doesn’t matter if I’m at home or somewhere completely new in the world — that first sip just hits differently. Bonus points if there’s a view… or at least a comfy chair.

2. Making plans (even if they’re loose ones)
I love that feeling of “what’s next?” Whether it’s a weekend away, a long-haul adventure, or just deciding where to go for lunch — having something to look forward to is everything.

3. Sunshine on my face 🌞
Simple, but unbeatable. Sitting outside, wandering somewhere new, or just catching a few warm rays — instant mood lift.

4. Good food, shared properly 🍷
Not rushed. Not fancy for the sake of it. Just really good food, a drink in hand, and proper conversation. That’s the magic.

5. That ‘we’re actually here’ moment
You know the one. When you arrive somewhere — a beach, a city, a hidden gem — and it just hits you… this is why we do it.

It’s easy to think happiness comes from the big trips and big moments. But honestly? It’s these little daily ones that make everything else even better.

And the best part… you can take them with you wherever you go ✨

Try every opportunity

Describe something you learned in high school.

There’s something I’ve been thinking about lately as we’ve been travelling more and more.

It actually started years ago, back at school.

I wasn’t the loudest in the room, and I certainly wasn’t the one who always had the answers. But somewhere along the way—whether it was through a teacher who believed in me, a challenge I didn’t think I could handle, or simply being pushed a little outside my comfort zone—I picked up something far more valuable than any single lesson.

I learned that I could try.

And more importantly… that trying didn’t mean getting it perfect—it meant being willing to step into something new, even if I wasn’t completely ready.

That small shift in mindset planted something bigger: a quiet confidence. A sense that the world wasn’t something to be watched from the sidelines, but something to step into.

Travel has brought that feeling back to life in the most beautiful way.

Every new place, every unfamiliar street, every conversation with someone I might never have met otherwise—it all taps into that same belief I first felt at school: that I can figure things out, that I can adapt, that I can say yes to the unknown.

It’s not about being fearless. It’s about being curious enough to go anyway.

And maybe that’s the greatest thing I ever learned—
not a subject, not a grade, but a mindset:

That there’s a whole world out there…
and I’m more than capable of exploring it. ✨

Travel every opportunity

Describe one positive change you have made in your life.

There’s been a quiet but powerful shift in how I choose to live my life—and it’s this: I’ve stopped waiting.

For years, travel was something I fitted in. A holiday here, a long weekend there, always squeezed between work, commitments, and the ever-growing list of “things to do first.” But at some point, I realised that the moments I felt most alive, most present, most me… were the ones spent exploring somewhere new. Walking unfamiliar streets, tasting something I couldn’t pronounce, watching the world unfold in a completely different rhythm.

So I made a decision. Not a dramatic, life-upending one—but a deliberate one. To prioritise travel. To build it into my life, not bolt it on.

And the impact has been incredible.

Travel has given me space to think, to reset, to breathe. It’s reminded me how big the world is—and how small our worries can feel when we step outside our usual surroundings. It’s brought joy, perspective, and a kind of energy that’s hard to find anywhere else. And perhaps most importantly, it’s given me time—real, meaningful time—with the people I love, creating memories that don’t fade.

I’m not “escaping” life anymore. I’m designing it.

And for me, that means saying yes to more journeys, more experiences, and more of those moments where you stop, look around, and think… this is exactly where I’m meant to be.

The Ritz, London

What is your favourite restaurant?
A Taste of Elegance at The Ritz, London

When in London, there’s one place I always find myself drawn back to, The Ritz. Tucked away in the heart of Piccadilly, this iconic hotel isn’t just a feast for the eyes; it’s a culinary experience I keep falling in love with over and over again.

From the moment you walk through its grand entrance, you’re transported to a world of timeless luxury. Gilded ceilings, sparkling chandeliers, and impeccable service set the stage, but it’s the food that truly steals the show.

Whether it’s the refined Afternoon Tea in the Palm Court (a London institution in itself) or an exquisite dinner at The Ritz Restaurant, every dish is a work of art. Think delicate flavors, perfect presentation, and a wine list that makes your heart skip a beat.

My personal favorite? The lobster bisque followed by the perfectly cooked fillet of beef. And don’t even get me started on the desserts, they’re almost too pretty to eat (almost).

Dining at The Ritz isn’t just a meal, it’s a moment. If you’re visiting London and want to treat yourself, this is the place to do it. Just remember to dress the part, there’s a dress code, and trust me, it adds to the charm.

Travel Tip: Book well in advance and, if you can, time your visit around golden hour for a truly magical experience.

Finding My Zen…

What’s the most fun way to exercise?

There’s something magical about practicing yoga with your toes in the sand, waves crashing in the background, and the sun painting the sky in fiery shades of orange and pink. As someone who swears by yoga to reset, recharge, and reconnect, doing it on a beach is the ultimate travel perk.

This trip? Pure bliss. I rolled out my mat (okay, let’s be real—just a towel), greeted the ocean breeze with a deep breath, and moved through sun salutations with the actual sun smiling back at me. Talk about good energy.

Every morning, it was just me, the sea, and the seagulls (who are surprisingly judgmental during tree pose, by the way). Evenings were for slower flows, letting the golden hour soak into every stretch. Who needs a studio when the world is this beautiful?

Travel tip: always pack a light mat or yoga towel—you never know when a perfect little slice of paradise will call for a spontaneous flow.

Have you ever tried beach yoga? It’s basically vacation for the soul. Let me know your favorite place to practice!

Scarpetta….

What book could you read over and over again?

Some books are like fast food—quick, satisfying, but forgettable. Then there’s Patricia Cornwell. Her books? They’re like a gourmet thriller buffet I never get tired of.

I could read any Patricia Cornwell novel again and again. Every time I dive back into Kay Scarpetta’s world, it’s like catching up with an old (slightly terrifying but brilliant) friend. Murders, forensics, plot twists that slap you in the face—what’s not to love?

No matter how many times I’ve read them, they still get my heart racing. And let’s be honest, there’s something oddly comforting about solving murders from the safety of my couch.

What’s your “read it a thousand times and still obsessed” with?

Will Work for Plane Tickets!**

What job would you do for free?

If I could get paid in passport stamps, I’d be rich by now. Honestly, I’d take a travel job *for free* if it meant I got to explore somewhere new, meet cool people, and live the adventure.

Want someone to hike the Alps, taste-test pasta in Italy, document sunsets in Bali, or pet-sit a llama in Peru? I’m your person. I’ve got a camera, a backpack, and zero hesitation.

Give me a ticket, a purpose, and maybe a strong WiFi signal — and I’ll give you stories, photos, videos, and the kind of wanderlust energy that’ll make people want to pack a bag *yesterday*.

So yeah… if you’re looking for someone to work, explore, share, and bring the travel dream to life — I’ll do it. No salary needed. Just point me in the direction of adventure.

Morning Glory

What are your morning rituals? What does the first hour of your day look like?

Every morning, before the world fully wakes up, I slip on my shoes and step outside for a quiet walk—a peaceful ritual that feels like a secret between me and the universe. The air is crisp, the birds are just beginning their gossip, and the sidewalks are blissfully empty.

With each step, I shake off the last bits of sleep, letting my thoughts wander as freely as the stray cat that sometimes watches me from a distance. It’s my personal reset button, a gentle way to remind myself that before emails, to-do lists, and the chaos of the day, there is stillness, fresh air, and the simple joy of just putting one foot in front of the other.

Technology…

How has technology changed your job?

Technology has completely transformed my job—it’s like I’m working in a whole new world.

Tasks that once took hours are now done in minutes, thanks to automation and smarter tools.

Communication is instant, collaboration happens in real time, and data is always at my fingertips.

It’s made me more efficient, but also keeps me on my toes, constantly learning and adapting. Some days, it feels like I have a digital sidekick; other days, I’m battling with yet another update.

Either way, it’s never boring and it leaves me more time for coffee!!!

Loving Life…

What is one word that describes you?

I’m like a walking adventure playlist, always tuned to the beat of fun and full of life!

With a heart that craves new experiences, I’m the kind of person who packs excitement wherever I go.

Whether I’m exploring new corners of the world or dancing through everyday moments, I’m always finding joy in the journey.

Life’s a big, beautiful adventure, and I’m living it to the fullest!
