We spent hours wandering the town’s historic streets, marveling at the traditional whitewashed houses and charming tiled facades.
Tavira’s history stretches back centuries, and this is evident in its architecture. We visited theTavira Castle, which offers fantastic views of the town and the surrounding countryside. From there, we explored the Igreja da Santa Maria do Castelo, a beautiful church built on the site of a former mosque.
